What happened
Indiana State Police said on Oct. 22 that troopers and motor carrier inspectors ran a focused patrol on trucks hauling oversized loads outside the hours their permits allow. They did 11 Level II and Level III inspections, issued 11 citations, documented 24 violations and revoked 11 oversize permits.
Why it matters
Some oversize permits limit travel to daylight hours. Moving outside those hours can cost the permit itself, not just a ticket, and violations written on roadside inspection reports count in your federal safety record.
What to consider
Before each oversize move in Indiana, go over the permit's travel-hour limits with the driver and plan the trip around them. Indiana oversize and overweight permits · Indiana intrastate trucking requirements
