Truck parts prices are up about 6% since January 2024, index finds

What it means for small fleets

Land Line reports FinditParts found truck parts prices up about 6% since January 2024, with driveline and axle parts up about 13%.

What happened

FinditParts' first Heavy-Duty Price Index found truck parts prices are up about 6% compared with January 2024, according to Land Line. Driveline and axle parts rose the most, about 13%, while HVAC parts stayed mostly flat. Most of the increase came last year, and increases slowed for most of 2026.

Why it matters

FinditParts says manufacturer-level prices are still up nearly 2% year over year, which could reach fleets in the months ahead. Land Line notes ATRI put average trucking operating costs at a record $2.336 per mile last year, including $0.215 for repairs and maintenance. The index does not say why prices rose, and Land Line points to tariffs on trucks, parts and metals as one possible reason.

What to consider

Compare your own repair and maintenance cost per mile with the ATRI figure, and plan for higher parts costs in next year's budget and rates. ATRI research
